Birthplace of the Renaissance, home of such great artists as Michelangelo and Donatello, Florence’s influential roll in beginning the Renaissance is widely known. The city is very worth visiting for it’s great art, fascinating architecture and history and wonderful food. I’ve previously reported on Florence on this website, which you can read here if you’re interested.
This photo was taken while we were walking some of the back streets of the city. We came across this woodcarver’s shop selling mostly puppets (I guess they’re really marionettes), but also this beautifully constructed work of Pinocchio riding a tricycle. His nose is at half mast so presumably he only told a small lie to get on that cycle.
