Expedia and HomeAway, a marketplace for vacation rentals, have announced that Expedia will start listing HomeAway rentals on its site starting early next year.
It’s an interesting move: Expedia has worried that listing vacation rentals might cause issues in its long-term relationships with hotels…but the competition for lodging dollars from short-term apartment sources like Airbnb, Homeaway, VRBO (owned by Homeaway) must be pushing them into the market…and pushing apartment rentals into the mainstream.
