Summer evenings in Madrid lend themselves to outdoor dining and drinking, with nearly every street and plaza taken up with tables. Even tiny restaurants and bars spread themselves out as evening temperatures become pleasant. Since Madrilenos start the dinner hour late, we took this picture around 8 pm while waiting for the restaurant to open at 9! Until then, only bread and wine…and olives.
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
