Where in the World is Gumbo? #7.0

witw 01-01-14

Try your hand at this week’s picture puzzles.  Our regulars will know that each week we’ll present a picture from our collection, without the usual description that goes with our Picture of the Day.

Remember, your answers need to be specific (“It’s Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House in Chicago,” not “Chicago.”).  Post your answer as a comment at the end of the blog; correct answers will be announced every Tuesday afternoon, with more information about the picture.  You must be a TG member to post to the site, but joining is free and simple: Just click HERE to start!

Today, like many folks, Gumbo is trapped in a snowy landscape while looking for a place to celebrate Christmas.  But as Gumbo’s looking around he sees this impressive white building sitting in the snow.   Gumbo knows where he is, but do you?

Where exactly is Gumbo?

It’s the capitol building. Well, not THE capitol building but A capitol building. One of fifty scattered around the United States. One with a dome. One in which the building is very similar to THE capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Gumbo is in Salt Lake City standing in front of the Utah State Capitol building!

However, since Utah is the beehive state I will stick with my original guess.

The View North

I was visiting a friend, and this was the view from their house. I could understand why they built their house facing this direction. I was taken by the beauty!
