Post-Merger AA Route Changes at DCA, LGA

One of the impacts of the deal that allowed American Airlines and USAir to merge was a requirement to give up some takeoff/landing slots at DC’s National Airport and NY’s Laguardia, two of the busiest airports. Now, AA has announced which flights have to be cancelled because they no longer have a gate–and for some cities it means the end of non-stop AA flights to DC or NY.

 

The affected cities include Detroit, Minneapolis and Little Rock from DCA and Atlanta, Cleveland and Minneapolis from LGA. Some cities will also gain non-stop service through combinations of AA and USAir routes. DETAILS

Virign America will bee getting some of AA’s slots at LGA – That is a net plus in my book!
