This past week marked TravelGumbo’s 6-month anniversary and we feel as proud as any parents could be of a healthy baby—and we’d like to thank you all for sharing the celebration with us, and through your interest, and especially your contributions, helping make us one of the liveliest new travel spots on the internet.
In that six months, we’ve published literally hundreds of blogs featuring places as diverse as you could imagine—China, Sri Lanka, almost everywhere in Europe, the American Southwest, Canada and even more, recording travels by air, car, freighter and even on foot. TravelGumbo has also worked hard at supplying some of the tips and tools travelers need, with articles on packing, travel money, budget travel tips, communications and technology. And given you links daily to travel industry news.
The Gumbo Gurus, all enthusiastic travelers, started this project with a belief that there’s a need for a place for travelers to share ideas, experiences and suggestions in a way that is more personal than question-and-answer, and which would be rich in pictures as well. Your interest and participation tells us we were right. TravelGumbo truly is “By travelers, for travelers.”
And speaking of participation, this is the moment to express our gratitude to the contributors, especially the TG Gurus, who have been a huge support and without whose pictures, blogs, suggestions and enthusiasm this would not even be possible.
Looking ahead, we hope to see more new articles and blogs, more points of view…and more of you!
Gratefully,
The Gumbo Gurus
(DrFumblefinger, PHeymont and Travel Rob)
And of course the more travellers that join with us to share their experiences make TravelGumbo a more interesting read !
Thanks to all the contributors – so far – that have made this site such a friendly and informative place to share stories and photo’s.
Please join in if you haven’t already.
Share your travels.
Congratulations to the several parents of this beautiful prodigy of a website. Now, where’s the cake? We want cake, we want cake…
Have they no cake? Then let them eat bread!
Not “or”, DrF, AND ice cream. Guess it’s been a while since you were at a kid’s party? Truth be told, that cake wouldn’t need any. Just cake, please.
Here’s a piece of cake for you, Portmoresby. E-enjoy it!
Or, if you prefer, some ice cream!
Yes, of course, it should be “Cake and ice cream”!
Straight from the lips to the hips!!
CONGRATS, CONGRATS, and CONGRATS…
Best wishes for continued success!
