American Airlines and JetBlue, which for the past few years have had codeshare agreements that allowed JetBlue to sell tickets to overseas destinations and American to reach smaller U.S. markets served by JetBlue, have ended the agreement. Both airlines say it wasn’t working as well as they’d hoped; an added factor is that with the merger of AA and USAir, the combined airline now reaches many of the destinations JetBlue added to the mix.
