Gumbo, as we know, is a restless soul — always looking for something new and interesting beyond the horizon. Today Gumbo’s travels have taken him to a place where a lot of hard work built a great structure. And I’m not referring to that bridge in the background.
This should be a fairly easily solved puzzle with a little work and research, and I’ve another WITW ready for the weekend if this one is solved quickly, so go to work you travel detectives!
To repeat the rules: Share your suggestions, hints and discussions with others by posting them here as comments…but if you absolutely know where it is….please give others a couple of days to work on it before you pounce. If the answer is burning your fingers, e-mail it to [email protected] and we’ll publish it Friday night…right or wrong!

So, where is Gumbo today?
The puzzle is solved! Answers submitted first by PHeymont and not long thereafter by PortMoresby identified this as the Hoover Dam in the southwestern United States.
We’ll discuss the dam, this sculpture and the bridge behind it on Tuesday. Another puzzle going up shortly.
Friday night and time for a clue.
Over 100 people died in the building of this project, but millions have benefited from their work.
Where do you think Gumbo is?
