Panama adds a subway to its canal

Panama has just opened Central America’s first-ever subway, a 14km line with about a third of the line underground. It’s expected to cut commuting times and reduce congestion…and may also help the current president get his chosen successor elected. The new line opened in the midst of campaigning, and will be free for several months before a fare system is instituted. MORE from Economic Times
