Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish writer and poet who resided in No. 1, Merrion Square, Dublin, from 1855 to 1876 . Merrion Square is is a Georgian garden square on the southside of Dublin city centre. It was laid out after 1762 and was largely complete by the beginning of the 19th century. It is considered one of the Dublin’s finest surviving squares, and is a wonderful place to visit for a casual stroll or picnic.
