Airbus, the European plane manufacturer has shown off its first attempt at a battery-powered, no-emission aircraft. It’s a single-seater with limited range, but is the first step in a program to achieve a 70-80 hybrid airliner by 2050. It’s part of an EU project to reduce emissions. Details in Salon.
A Glance at the Architecture of Downtown Casablanca
DrFumblefinger explores the architecture in “Downtown Casablanca”. Most were constructed in the period between WWI and WWII, and show art deco and art nouveau features combined with Moroccan/Moorish features.
Always favor new technologies being developed, but I would think the weight of the battery packs would be prohibitive. Time will tell.
