Ireland is well known for it’s music, food, brews and friendly fun people, all of which (and more) can be found and enjoyed in Temple Bar.
Temple Bar is an area on the south bank of the River Liffey in central Dublin, Ireland. Unlike the areas surrounding it, Temple Bar has preserved its medieval street pattern, with many narrow cobbled streets.
Temple Bar is promoted as Dublin’s cultural quarter, being the location of many Irish cultural institutions, including the Irish Photography Centre (incorporating the Dublin Institute of Photography, the National Photographic Archives and the Gallery of Photography), the Ark Children’s Cultural Centre, the Irish Film Institute, the Temple Bar Music Centre, the Arthouse Multimedia Centre, Temple Bar Gallery and Studio, the Project Arts Centre, the Gaiety School of Acting, IBAT College Dublin, as well as the Irish Stock Exchange and the Central Bank of Ireland.
After dark, Temple Bar is well known for it’s lively nightlife that is popular with both tourists and locals. Many wonderful pubs can be found which offer up great food, great brews, and great local entertainment. On my last visit to Dublin, I was fortunate enough to partake in a Musical Pub Crawl in Temple Bar (this involved short walks to three different pubs in one evening, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the food, beverages and entertainment each pub has to offer, not to mention all the new friends you’ll make along the way).
So, if you ever find yourself in Dublin, make sure to check out Temple Bar.
A great place for the craic! Love it.
