Airline fee revenues down 1st quarter but airlines still profitable

Airlines revenues (baggage and changed reservation fees) dropped to $1.1 billion in the first quarter, down from a mean of $1.5 billion/quarter in the prior year.  Airlines still generate a profit of more than $500 million.

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m astounded at how much monies airlines make from among the most unpopular expenses in travel.
