I need to reserve a couple of airport hotels and since it hardly matters which ones, for just a night each, I thought I might try bidding for them to keep costs down. I’ve used Priceline a couple of times several years ago but I suspect there are more out there now. Does anyone have an experience they’d like to relate, good or bad, to give me some ideas?
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
Hotwire.com has a generic “star rating” hotel, unknown to you as to which brand and exact location, at discounted prices. I’ve use them a few times and been satisfied with the results. For example, I got 4 star rooms in downtown Montreal for less than eighty dollars a night, probably a quarter or less of their rack rate.
Generally I do like to know where I’m staying, but good luck. Let us know how this works out for you.
