More Americans than anytime in the past 6 years will be traveling at least 50 miles from home on the upcoming Labor Day weekend, according to AAA. The auto club estimates 34.7 million will be traveling (that’s about 10% of the population).
That’s a 1.3% increase over last year, and comes despite no increase in disposable income; people just seem more willing to take on debt for vacation. AAA says about 86% of the travel will be by road. More details in USA Today
