A study released today by Bjorn Hanson who is a professor at New York University’s hospitality school,says hotels will take in a record $2.25 billion in revenue from add-on fees. That’s 6 percent more than 2013 and nearly double that of a decade ago.
Unusual Fees listed in the article by some hotels:
An 18% administration fee to restock the minibar on top of the price of the item.
A personal use fee of $25 if guest puts their own soda or bottled water in the minibar
A $30 fee to skip the check in line.

Seems like both the airline and hotel industry keep learning from each other on introducing new fees. I remember how outraged people were about the fees on RyanAir. Now those fees seem mild in compared to other companies .
