Depending on where I’ve lived, my favorite season varies somewhat, but in the Pacific Northwest and now Alberta, I’m very fond of early fall. The weather (usually) is still pretty nice and generally it’s dry. The shortening days and cooler nights bring on appealing color changes in the trees, bushes and grasses. These aren’t as dramatic or varied as those in the east, but I love the golds and yellows and rusty browns. Especially beautiful are the larches, pine trees whose needles change color and fall off every year, as seen in the photos below.

Yes, HistoryDigger. A well traveled person like you should see fall in the Rockies sometime. It’s really a very beautiful experience.
