Mid-December and moving north from Egypt and Malta, Sorrento was our base for a few days before heading for Rome and home. The weather was mild, as the potted flowers on the doorstep attest, mostly overcast with an occasional shower.
I walked to the northern edge of the upper town overlooking the harbor and took a picture, north toward Vesuvius. Walking back, I stopped at a pottery shop and bought house numbers with lemon decoration for a place I’d move to upon my return home. I still haven’t decided where to put them, although over the front door seems to be winning, any year now.
You can see the name of the guesthouse where I
stayed and I loved it, would return in a heartbeat.
