Gumbo’s been on quite a world whirl lately, popping up in various cathedrals, museums, libraries and airports on quite a few continents. This week, it seems is quite different. Could this house, with its unusual and identifying characteristic be his home, or is he again “just visiting?” Gumbo won’t say, and it’s up to you to figure out Where in the World is TravelGumbo?

So, exactly where is Gumbo today? Please be as specific as possible.
First thought came to me … it is New Orleans!!! Now I really gotta start thinking about
some New England spots …Edgartown, MA, Northshore of Boston?? Hmmmmm!!//
Time to tease out a bit more.
1. It’s not New England, and it’s not New Orleans, but far closer to the latter than the former.
2. Its design shows an architectural quirk common in its town, and nearly unique to that area.
So where do they build houses with front doors on the side of the house, at least on the corner house? Or is there some other design quirk that I don’t understand?
Williamsburg?
How about Charleston? (http://www.deseretnews.com/art…ns-charm.html?pg=all)
The front door on the street, leading onto the porch and not into the house seems to be quite characteristic. Yes the numberplate is out of focus, but if Gumbo is “just visiting”, I wonder why?
I may be wrong, but that could be my neck of the woods–New Orleans. Maybe even the Garden District with that oak tree. But the house has New England colors of white clapboard and black shutters, which would allow it to fit in on Nantucket or Concord, MA.
Whose car is next to the house? Not Louisiana plates, but that could be a decoy.
I’ d guess the South. Hollywood would use this house, if it were in New Orleans, to look like somewhere else.
Pennsylvania is know to have houses with two entrances. Hmm? Now I want to go see this house, which is so appealing and…mystifying
TG Member Club2013 has entered his guess by e-mail…He says Charleston, S.C.
Tune in tomorrow morning to see if he’s right!
