So, exactly where is Gumbo today? Please be as specific as possible.
Looks like part of an old wall to a city or an old fort of some kind.
Kids in school uniforms? Anyone recognize the colors?
To move this along, I’ll add more info:
Its purpose is not religious, but it bears the name of a saint.
If it is where I think it is, yes, the name of a saint, but in honor of a king. And that name not generally known, as I didn’t know it until I did more research.
Ah Paul, I have a suspicion that this is in the tropical land of a very good author chum of Dr. F… Looks to have Portuguese influence and defensive walls.
Like PortMoresby I shall hold off further comment until I know if I am in the general area – and then I will start scratching my head….
Not the place I think you’re thinking of, Mac…but the walls are defensive (and largely successful). Tune in tomorrow…
This is going to be interesting….
At 7 pm Eastern, I will post the two e-mail guesses….and tomorrow, the Reveal!
Fort Knox!
I will give one last hint – it is the most success fortification that i know of.
Looks like India to me. I could be way off but it reminds me of places in my Asian travels.
Oh, I just reread the part about bearing the name of a saint. Hmm? Probably not India, but it still reminds me of architecture I have seen there and also in Burma.
Drum roll, please!
The e-mail submissions are hereby revealed…and tomorrow morning the answer will be revealed.
Both Jonathan L and PortMoresby e-mailed their belief that the scene is Castillo de San Felipe del Morro in San Juan, PR.
