This may not be news to some of you, but it is new to me. Heading to the AAdvantage webpage to see what flights might be available, I discovered a notice informing us that American now waives fees when booking by phone, starting today, when reserving flights not bookable online. There’s been discussion about finding flights on partner airlines that don’t show up in award flight searches, only bookable on the phone for a fee. So the current fees of $30/$40 (domestic/international) will no longer apply. Not huge but 1 less fee may be news after all. See the notice here.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
Really good news, because some of those partner flights are hard to book online even when you know they exist. This should make it easier to make connection to a number of areas in Europe without having to do Heathrow…
