Not letting alliance loyalties get in the way of a good deal, American Airlines (Oneworld) and Korea Airlines (Sky Team) have signed a codeshare agreement on the Seoul-to-Dallas/Ft Worth route that American recently began flying.
It’s a win for both airlines—it lets Korea sell tickets for many more U.S. destinations reached through American’s Dallas hub, and gives American a connection to numbers of Asian cities through Seoul.
In the background, USA Today reports, there may be friction between Korea and Sky Teammate Delta. They also point out that Seoul is a rival to the Tokyo hub of American’s Oneworld partner Japan Air Lines.
