New numbers from the National Travel and Tourism Office tally 75 million international visitors to the U.S. last year, about 34 million not from neighboring countries. But the tourism websites set up by cities, regions, states and more to attract those tourists are not experiencing the growth you might expect. Some have had less traffic, some have had more, a few have had a lot more…but the totals are still small. The most popular of all U.S. tourism websites, NYC’s nycgo.com, for instance gets about 1.8 million visits a month, according to Skift—but the city gets 56 million visitors a year.
