Washington state’s major commercial airport, halfway between Seattle and Tacoma (hence the name, Sea-Tac), is already well known for providing fast free internet. The airport is investing an additional $10 million dollars to boost its wi-fi capacity. That may be because it has important tech industries nearby, including Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing and Expedia.
The goal is to create the capability to having 80 people at each of the airports 83 gates stream video simultaneously, without slowdown or signal drop. More on this story at this link from Puget Sound Business Journal
We applaud the effort and encourage other airports to follow Sea-Tac’s example.
