Imagine whipping out your camera and snapping a picture…and having the camera show you what the spot looked like 100 years ago…that’s the idea behind Pivot, a soon-to-be-released app that will rely on publicly-available photos and other pictures to recognize your location and serve up older views.
The app has good backing: it was a Kickstarter staff pick, and picked up a grand prize from the Entrepreneur Challenge of Harvard’s Innovation lab. The plan is to start with the available pictures, and to encourage users and others to scan and upload their own collections as sell. For MORE from PC Magazine. Photo: Pivot
