While visiting my daughter in Brooks this past weekend, I was impressed by the ocean-like waves I see in Kinbrook Island Provincial Park, on Lake Newell! To see such a large lake with beach and ocean-like waves on the relatively dry Alberta prairie is a big surprise to me. Brooks is a little farming/oil/meat packing town just 2 hours driving east of Calgary. The Park and lake is just at the outskirts of the town. The town is also close enough for a day trip to the Dinosaur Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, about a 45-minute drive to the northeast.
I’ve seen so many beautiful lakes in Canada.
Mostly on photos.
Does this lake ever become cool or warm enough for a skinny dip ?
Not that shorts keep you much warmer anyway !
I’ve not found one yet.
