Ryanair, the Dublin-based discount airline that seems to divide the world into fans and haters, has attracted the attention of a columnist at the Telegraph (UK) for apparently charging British passengers more than those paying in Euros and other currencies.
It’s not that they’re posting specifically higher prices…it’s just that they’re treating the British pound and the Euro as if they were equal. Since they’re not (at today’s rate the pound is worth 1.38&euro
, British passengers paying their fees and fares, based on where their trip starts from, could be paying as much as 40% extra.
Ryanair told the Telegraph “Ryanair doesn’t discriminate against British travellers or any other customer. All Ryanair’s fees are charged in the currency of the departure airport regardless of the nationality of our customers.” But it didn’t address the exchange rate issue at all. DETAILS
