Eurostar’s direct London-Marseille route opens

London-Marseille in 6-1/2 hours without changing trains, or heading early to airports and finding your way back to downtown. That’s the premise of Eurostar’s new direct service from London’s Saint Pancras to Marseille’s Saint Charles stations. The first run was May 1.

At about $75 each way, its hard to beat the price, either. The train runs Monday, Friday and Saturday; Thursday and Sunday will be added for the summer months. The Guardian (UK) took note of the occasion with a usefully comprehensive rundown of what’s to see in Marseille, one of our favorite also.
