JetBlue is starting to take on a real international tinge, adding Mexico City to its destination list for this year, and opening service to Ecuador in 2016. JetBlue already serves over 30 cities in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The Mexico City service will operate two routes, one from Miami and the other from nearby Fort Lauderdale, with a daily roundtrip for each. JetBlue expects to funnel Mexico City passengers from all over through the two Florida cities.
The Ecuador service, which will run from Fort Lauderdale to Quito, is based on Ecuador’s growing tourist trade, heavily promoted in recent years. It will start in the first quarter of next year, running one round-trip daily to start.
