Above, Delta flight takes off. Below, Delta takes off flight info from ticket agencies
Delta, which earlier this year stopped posting its award charts so that its Skymiles members can no longer plan ahead how many “miles” they’ll have to spend for a flight, has now pulled all its reservation data from some of the online travel agencies (OTAs), including TripAdvisor, Hipmunk and CheapoAir.
That means that the sites can no longer show comparisons and fare bargains that can only be found on Delta’s own site. Delta apparently feels it will get a bigger share of the sales. The three OTAs, who may not be the only ones affected, have joined together in a complaint that’s been forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
