Rome airport’s Terminal 3 to re-open soon

Terminal 3 at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino airport will re-open by the end of July, the local mayor told an Italian Senate panel on Tuesday. That will allow the restoration of normal service at the airport, although the terminal will still need extensive restoration.

Since the electrical fire on May 7th that extensively damaged the terminal, the airport has been operating at 60% of capacity, forcing delays, cancellations, and shifts of flights to distant airports, a situation that has left passengers stranded and/or furious (see TravelGumbo news, 7/2/15)
