The Strasburg Rail Road, which bills itself as the “Rail Road to Paradise” has added a less-heavenly attraction to its steam-train rides through the Pennsylvania countryside near Lancaster.
Using a dozen vintage pinball machines from an Asbury Park, NJ museum, the new ride allows pinball wizards a 45-minute session on one of the machines, with an added tilt: besides the usual tricky bangs and bumps of pinball, there’s also the motion of the train, which changes the odds. The Rail Road is calling it the “Pinball Pendolino” after the tilting high-speed trains of Europe.
The ride has room for 12 players and 12 spectator guests per trip. For more information on fares and schedules on the Rail Road’s website, click HERE.
