Sometimes a photo can tell you a lot about a destination. Carew Castle is an imposing stone structure in southern Wales (Pembrokeshire) adjoining a 23 acre millpond. It’s frequently wet (the photo was taken under an umbrella on a rainy day), and has lots of sheep around.
It’s a beautiful ruin well worth exploring. There’s a nicely preserved tidal mill nearby, an old Celtic cross, and lots of opportunities to hike.
