Recently my wife and I traveled across Montana by car. It’s a large state with some amazing mountain ranges and lots of wide open plains — the “Big Sky” country the state is known for. The sun was beginning to set when I spotted a group of wind turbines in the distance, noting the highway cut between them. I thought they might make interesting points of contrast in the light of the setting sun.
I pulled off the road and grabbed my DSLR camera, working my way through the ditch to avoid powerlines and fences in my images. It was surprisingly cool and windy, but I was pleased with the results.
