German photographer Willie Kaemana has a great tool for armchair travelers, perhaps those whose governments don’t allow them to travel to Iran. His website now shows 360-degree panoramic views of several major attractions in the country.
Aside from Persepolis, shown above, there are also photo sets from Isfahan and Shiraz. Since tripods are not allowed in some of the ruins, Mr. Kaemana made most of the shots holding a monopod over his head and turning to make the four shots needed for a panorama.
Despite his expectations that there might be problems: “I had a friend in Iran who sometimes used to be arrested for his photography, but no one paid me any attention or asked any questions,” he said. His pictures can be seen by clicking HERE
