It seems as if there’s no limit to the luxury market (after all, the 1% has most of the world’s money), and here’s the cruise accommodation to prove it. Regent Seven Seas next ship, now being built, has a $10,000 a night cabin that’s already sold out through the end of next year!
The ship, Seven Seas Explorer, is due in service next July; it’s an all-suite ship and the company says it’s the most expensive luxury ship ever built. And no, it’s not just the suite that might be suitable for Marie Antoinette; many other suites are already booked.
The $10,000 a night (not per cruise, per night) suite is 3875 square feet, about 50% larger than the average U.S. house. It includes two bedrooms, a large living room, and a private spa with massage and treatment room and 2-1/2 baths. Included amenities for the suiteholder include free laundry and wifi and discounts (as if they were needed!) on premium wines and liquors.
