13 year old Eli Pollak started “Travel to Learn” last year. It’s goal is to award free domestic and foreign educational trips to Madison, Wisconsin public school students whose families can’t afford travel. It has raised $5000 so far mainly from donations to his bar mitzvah last November. Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools, a nonprofit organization, is the fund’s administrator and fiscal agent.
“Travel can increase not just what you learn but how much you want to learn and how you approach school,” said Eli. His belief is that more kids should get the kind of mind-expanding opportunities he’s had by being member of a traveling family
