Six live chickens have been stolen from the mini-farm that’s part of a hip bar/bistro/urban farm called Le Recyclerie. The owners and authorities suspect foul play (sorry…could not resist). Security cameras will now be installed to protect the remaining ten birds.
Le Recyclerie is itself a recycling of the old Boulevard Ornano station on the abandoned Petite Ceinture rail line that once circled Paris (more details on Gumbo HERE). The “farm” shares part of the platform below the old station, while diners sit in the station and in another part of the platform. The farm animals eat leftovers, thus reducing the restaurant’s waste burden.
