Four cruise lines have made changes in itineraries in the Caribbean for the next few days because of Hurricane Joaquin, which is presently centered over the Bahamas, and will likely be in the area throughout Friday before moving north.
The changes for the four (Carnival, Princess, Disney and Norwegian) have been posted by cruisecritic.com; that’s the place to go for updates and other lines as well. Most of the changes involve shifting port stops in the area to sea days, or postponing port calls.
The storm has the potential also of affecting not only many flights as the storm moves toward the U.S., but of affecting traveler plans for cruises or Caribbean vacations. Caribbean Airlines has announced it would allow changes without fee on its flights between Caribbean spots and the U.S.; no word yet from any other airlines.
