Hot air balloons are always an attraction, especially when they’re made up in bright colors. And when you get a large fleet of them together in one place…even more exciting.
That’s the story from Xingyi, in China’s Guizhou Province, which held a competition Monday with as many as 30 teams competing in groups. The first balloon up in each group serves as “the rabbit,” and the others try to follow it.
Xingyi’s event was held in conjunction with a major tourism promotion conference, but it’s a regular venue for balloonists due to its karst landscape formations and its reliable weather.
