Prague Castle’s chief loses job over red underwear

Yes, that’s what it says.

In addition to being one of Prague’s, even Europe’s, top tourist attractions, it’s also the home of the Czech Republic president and other important offices. And, a week or so ago, the security importance of the facility was driven home after the commander of the Castle guard, a high-ranking Czech officer was dismissed over a prank by a radical art group.

The group, disguises as chimney sweeps, managed to get to the roof and replace the presidential flag with a giant pair of red boxer shorts. They posted the exploit on Facebook, along with a poem criticizing Pres. Zeman for allegedly siding with China and Russia.

It is not clear yet what punishment, if any, will catch up with the art group, which has pulled other political stunts before. Local press reported that most people found the whole thing amusing.
