Today’s picture is doing double-duty; it served as a clue in one of the earliest Where In The World is TravelGumbo puzzles, and is still one of my favorites not only because of its calming colors and gentle shapes, but also because it reminds me of our several visits to this special place on the coast of Maine.
Named for one of the first voices of concern about environmental issues all the way back in the 1950s, it preserves several areas near Wells, Maine, and provides both recreation and education highlighting the region where the forest meets the edge of the ocean and its marshes. I’ve also included a few views of other parts of the Refuge.
Very nice. Looks like a very nice peaceful place to go and just clear the head. Places like this are real gems.
