Bologna’s stray cats get a luxury apartment

A Bologna woman known for her kindness to stray cats, and who adopted many of them, has left her apartment to them.

They won’t actually get to live in the 7-room apartment that comes with a garage and a palm-lined garden; her will actually provides for the local council to sell the apartment, worth about €230,000, and use the proceeds to fund Trebbo di Reno, the official “cattery” that looks after Bologna’s strays.

Cattery officials were pleased because its current quarters are in disrepair and out of space. They are thinking of new quarters, a separate room for each cat, and possibly a garden. Almost as good as if they’d gotten the apartment itself!

I could understand it if she’d done this for dogs, but for cats it seems a little much to me…..
