OMG! United brings back the snacks in economy

Just when you thought all the news for back-of-the-plane flyers was bad, United Airlines has announced that starting in February, there’ll be free snacks in coach. Not the meals that once there were, but at least a little something to look forward to. It’s part of United’s “sorry” for the rocky times since its troubled merger with Continental; New CEO Oscar Muniz promised a focus on customer service, and here it is… The change applies to flights that don’t already have free food or snacks,…

Attention in the Terminal! Please claim your Boeing 747s.

It’s not a story you hear very often, but apparently someone has abandoned their 747s at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).  Not just one, but three of them — sitting there on the tarmac. Airport authorities have placed an ad in a local newspaper seeking the unknown owner of three Boeing 747-200Fs (2 passenger and 1 cargo planes).  The planes could be sold or destroyed if they fail to be claimed within 14 days, and the revenue so generated could be used to recover fees…

San Diego-Tijuana: Like a bridge over troubled borders…

Dec. 9, 2015: Multnomah Falls, Oregon

While spending some time in Portland we took a short 30 miles drive outside of Portland to see Multnomah Falls.  On the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge,  this fall is located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway.
