The sign of times soon to come! This was my first summer solstice sunrise at Stonehenge in England and I love the picture because it heralds the warm sunny days that are yet to come (please!) after the dark days of winter. The solstice sun-rises are the only occasions these days when the public are allowed to be within touching distance of the old stones that comprise ‘the Henge’.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
There’s definitely something special about seeing those ancient rocks so carefullly arranged. And to be there with a crowd of party-goers must have been a blast, Mac! Another great photo, thanks!
Amazing pic. Stonehenge is on our bucket list and this sounds like it would be great time to visit. Thanks for sharing.
What an amazing opportunity you had to witness this glorious event! Your photos are so beautiful!!
