Travelzoo’s annual survey of vacation preferences is out, and respondents rank the U.S. as the top choice among Australian, British, Canadian and French travelers, and #2 for Spanish and Chinese respondents.
The #1 ranking among British travelers is a big rise from last year’s #6 ranking; Travelzoo’s president attributes it to a combination of increased direct flights to the U.S. at competitive prices and a concern about security in other destinations.

I’m a little surprised that there’s so much interest in the USA given the relative strength of the US dollar currently. But it is regarded as a fairly safe place to go and airfares are cheap now, so that may be the driving force behind this.
Now that many countries are not recommended for a vacation us Brits are looking west instead of east.
