According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) tourism is bigger than ever. It now accounts for 1 in 11 jobs and is 10 % of gross domestic product. 1.184 billion people traveled outside their country in 2015. That’s up 4.4%. It’s the 6th consecutive year of above-average growth, with international arrivals increasing by 4% or more every year since 2010.
Britain, China and the U.S. led the growth of outbound travelers. Russian and Brazilians traveled less because of economic crises in their countries.
