The town of Zalec in Slovenia has interesting plan to attract beer loving tourists. It’s going to build the first beer fountain in Europe. No completion date was announced, but the town announced future visitors will find a variety of Slovenian beers and pay six euros for three 10.5 fl oz servings of beer. It will be served in a commemorative mug,
The fountain will cost 240,000 Euros to build and the town will pay half the cost of construction. The other half of the cost will come from private donations.
Zalec is in a valley of hop plantations know locally as “valley of green gold”.
Just a guess on my part, but I think the world famous “beer guy” (pictured above) might want to know about this fountain when it’s done.
