Anchorage Airport never closes for winter weather

Bragging rights goes to Ted Stevens Anchorage International in Anchorage, Alaska,  for never closing for winter weather. And that’s really saying something. In Anchorage, even mild years have over 2ft of snow and on average ,the city gets over 6ft of snow. 

Zaramie Lindseth, Ted Stevens  airfield maintenance manager said:

“In Anchorage, we just plan for it every day. For us, snow is not an emergency; it’s just part of doing business.”
