One of the fun things to do in Norway is see the Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace, the residence of the King of Norway. It occurs daily at 1:30 pm.
The day we went, the entire Changing of the Guard took about a half hour. You can get really close and it’s one of the better Changing of the Guards that I’ve seen.
The guards are called the ‘King’s Guard’ and they perform sentry at the Palace, day and night.
Public guided tours of the Royal Palace are available only in the summer when the King takes his vacation.
